In the proposed research project, the phlegmatising of a combustionengine with the aim to reduce raw emissions in dynamic operation isinvestigated. For this, the internal combustion engine is added with ahybrid module, consiting of a hydraulic motor and a hydraulicaccumulator, to allow a sharp increase of torque without strengthenthe combustion engine dynamically. Specific objective and outcome ofthe project is thedevelopment of a design method for a drive systemconsisting of a conventional internal combustion engine with dieseltank and a hybrid module. This drive system is able to cover thedynamic load requirements of the system while operating the enginephlegmatised. This enables a significant reduction of raw emissions ofthe engine.
