Project Details
Development of hybrid deep drawing tools of high wear resistance with an adaptive tool stiffness (C01)
Subject Area
Materials Engineering
Term
from 2007 to 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 16071898
TP C1 deals with the development of hybrid tools for the use in hot stamping and in cold forming. Therefore two different strategies are used. The forming tools should be produced by casting or by sintering. Ceramics, which can be possibly used for these strategies, will be characterized. After the integration of functional elements in the tools, hot stamping of parts will be carried out, especially for the production of parts with graded material properties. The lifetime analysis of these tools and the comparison with the steel tools made in SFB would also be carried out in the scope of this project.
