The main goal of the proposed research project is to develop a method for the exact calculation of dynamical correlation functions of the Heisenberg-Ising chain at finite temperatures. Such correlation functions are, for instance, measured in neutron scattering experiments or in electron spin resonance experiments, but so far are known at most approximately. Exact results for the long-time large-distance asymptotics of correlation functions, in particular, would help with the interpretation of experimental data but also with the calibration of numerical and analytical approximations on the theory side.
