Fast Recovery for Dynamic Time-Domain Broadband THz Sensing and Imaging (S02)

Subject Area Communication Technology and Networks, High-Frequency Technology and Photonic Systems, Signal Processing and Machine Learning for Information Technology
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 287022738

Project Description

The objective of S02 is to advance THz imaging by designing new experimental methods based on high-power transceiver technologies and advanced algorithms to allow fast broadband imaging in real-time. New algorithms incorporating the sparsity of both the measurement setup and object as well as temporal evolutions to achieve fast and resilient recovery will be investigated and evaluated. The combination of these elements will result in the realization of a unique imaging system with high resolution, high-bandwidth and high speed capable of exploring dynamically changing real-world objects, thus addressing the MARIE vision of dynamic sensing and mapping in arbitrary environments.
