Functional Electromagnetic Signatures from Complex Volume Systems and Outdoor Scenarios (M03)

Subject Area Electronic Semiconductors, Components and Circuits, Integrated Systems, Sensor Technology, Theoretical Electrical Engineering
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 287022738

Project Description

In the 3rd phase, M03 addresses the acceleration and generalization of our ultra-fast full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulator based on the Recursive Aggregated Centered T-Matrix Algorithm (RACTMA) towards the real-time analysis and design of reconfigurable intelligent volumes (RIVs) in the form of scattering posts for outdoor mm-wave/THz beam processing (relaying). Aiming in addition at fundamental research, our generalized material representation within RACTMA will include topological features (multiferroic and ferroelectric properties) as well as emissive capabilities. This may lead to new EM responses and thus unexpected device functionalities, as well as to complex emitter representations for passive THz radar imaging.
