Project Description

The project "Pattern formation in dynamic self-assembly systems" deals with the experimental and theoretical investigation of pattern formation processes in Langmuir-Blodgett transfer and dip-coating experiments. The layers deposited in these processes can exhibit both spatially ordered or disordered structures, whose control is the aim of this project. To this end, spatio-temporal control mechanism like pre-structures or temporally modulated transfer parameters for simple and complex liquids are studied in close collaboration between experimental and theoretical groups.
