Project Details
Examination and modeling of the effect of measures influencing damage evolution during hot forming (C03)
Subject Area
Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term
from 2017 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278868966
The subproject aims at understanding the interactions between hardening/softening and damage initiation at the interface between matrix and non-metallic inclusions during hot forming and to derive a coupled model for the microstructure and damage evolution based on the findings. The model shall capture the influence of the measures influencing the damage evolution during hot working and hence be used within the main project for the design of hot working processes with controlled damage evolution. For the development and calibration of the model, hot tensile tests with notched specimens as well as methods of physical simulation are used.
