Nonplanar Heterocyclic Electron Acceptor Molecules for Organic Electronics (A04)

Subject Area Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 281029004

Project Description

the focus will be on chiral polycyclic aromatic compounds with and without N-heteroatoms. The main objective is to create a deeper understanding between (isosteric) structure and properties in terms of circular dichroism (CD) and circular polarized luminescence (CPL). We will investigate structures such as twistarenes and related chiral nanoribbons, or helices, as well as structures with monkey saddle topologies. One major aspect will be the effect of N-doping on chiral (self)-recognition, charge-transfer complex formation, as well as transport process of charges, excitonic states, or on magnetisms.
