Project Details
Azaperylene- and Azacoronene-Derivatives as Functional Organic Materials (A02)
Subject Area
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 281029004
The central goal of this project will be the development of the chemistry of azaperylenes, azacoronenes and their oligomeric "expanded" derivatives with the aim of accessing redox-active molecules which may act as multi-electron reservoirs. Another focus will be the synthesis of chiral fluorophores based on these structural characteristics and their investigation as emitters of circular polarized light for applications in optoelectronic devices. Tetraazaperylene compounds, which act as solid state luminophores, will be grafted covalently onto photopolymerizable monomers, in order to fabricate micro-structured building blocks for the construction of micro-antennas and other devices.
