The first oscillation results from IceCube-Upgrade & JUNO (N02)

Subject Area Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, Fields
Astrophysics and Astronomy
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 283604770

Project Description

The project focuses on the highest-precision neutrino oscillation measurements in the electron sector with the new neutrino experiment JUNO and the muon-tau sector with the Upgrade of the IceCube experiment. By combining both measurements, the consistency of the Standard Model will be tested by challenging the fundamental condition of unitary mixing. A joint analysis of both experiments will also be of great interest in answering the unsolved question of neutrino mass ordering.
