Quantitative analysis of a spatial toggle switch and one-component signaling in bacteria (P10)

Subject Area Metabolism, Biochemistry and Genetics of Microorganisms
Term from 2017 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 269423233

Project Description

We will dissect the cell polarity switching mechanism in M. xanthus in collaboration with the Søgaard-Andersen group. Together with the Jung group, we will perform a comparative analysis of several in vivo protein-DNA target search processes involved in acid resistance, and study the interplay of three acid resistance systems in E. coli. Together with Thorben Cordes and Seán Murray, we will devise advanced methods for analyzing protein dynamics in live bacterial cells via Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP) analysis.
