The project conveys that innovative materials play a major role in solving the challenging questions of the future and highlights the contribution of the research of SFB 1232. The SFB 1232 explicitly seeks an active dialogue with various stakeholders of our society with both digital and analogue methods under the motto "University goes public". In addition to regularly informing the general public, the foci are on reaching people who have only very little access to the topic, on promoting young scientists within the framework of "Schools in Farbige Zustände", and on training and further education in science communication for the graduates and the student staff of the SFB.
