Process to generate rapidly cooled, homogenous samples (S01)

Subject Area Mechanical Process Engineering
Term from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 276397488

Project Description

The aim of the project is the development of a method for the laser-additive production of homogeneous metallic samples from powder mixtures consisting mainly of binary powders. With this method, numerous different alloys can be produced from only a few basic materials (binary powders) by varying the proportion of the mixture. The base materials are produced by inert gas atomization and should exhibit optimum flow properties and processability in the L-PBF process by selecting the atomization parameters.
