Detecting and engineering nonclassical quantum many-body states of polar molecules (A03)
Subject Area

In project, we are developing a versatile optical lattice-based platform for the study of dipolar quantum many-body physics based on ultracold polar 23Na39K molecules with a dipole moment of 2.7 Debye. Our work will initially focus on the dynamics of spin patterns with pinned molecules in different dimensions in a pseudo-spin 1/2 system with dipolar interaction. We plan to extend our work to Hubbard models in which polar molecules tunnel between lattice sites. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with other projects.
