Project Details
Direct numerical simulation of locally coupled interface processes at dynamic contact lines (B02)
Subject Area
Fluid Mechanics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 265191195
The project focuses on the detailed investigation of surfactant influences and mass transfer processes on contact line dynamics. In funding period 3, in addition to a further increase in the complexity of continuum mechanical modeling and simulation, complexity-reduced models and correlations relevant for engineering applications will be derived. Subgrid-scale models are to be developed in order to enable efficient modeling of dissipative mechanisms in wetting even on coarse grids.
