Impact plates for aluminium melting furnaces based on corrosion resistant TRIP steel-matrix composites (T01)

Subject Area Materials in Sintering Processes and Generative Manufacturing Processes
Term from 2016 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 54473466

Project Description

The transfer project T1 is concentrated on the application-oriented research of corrosion-resistant composite materials based on a failure-tolerant TRIP steel with certain TiO2-containing ceramics for applications in aluminium melting furnaces. This innovative combination of materials requires intense study of the powder metallurgical processing from powders to consolidated specimens. The basic research of the material characteristics will be performed on the laboratory scale. The application potential is to be verified by industrial trials.
