Expression of the B cell antigen receptor (BCR) is a key feature of most B cell neoplasms including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In this project, we will investigate the molecular role of the BCR in CLL pathogenesis by using animal models for inducible inactivation of genes encoding signaling proteins that act downstream of the BCR. In addition, we aim at characterizing the BCR-intrinsic structures that enable mutual BCR interaction and activation of BCR signaling in CLL.
