The project will study the figure of the worker hero in China and Russia between 1920 and 1960 and place them in the context of global historical processes of the heroization of work. In particular, it will focus on the interactions and transfer processes between the two communist systems in the formation and development of the system of the worker heroes and determine in comparative perspective the specific features of the discourse and social practice of the worker heroes in specific communist contexts.
