Proteolytic control of mitochondrial dynamics and metabolism by OMA1 (A01)

Subject Area Biochemistry
Term since 2016
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 269925409

Project Description

Mitochondria are dynamic and functionally plastic organelles that adapt to different physiological requirements. The mitochondrial peptidase OMA1 coordinates mitochondrial stress responses at the interface of mitochondrial dynamics, metabolism and cell survival. The current project analyses cell- and context-specific OMA1-mediated stress responses using various mouse models and employs unbiased systems approaches to identify novel OMA1-mediated mitochondrial stress responses.
