In Project B3, we investigate engineered transport processes in ultracold quantum gases. Filters for momentum states or particles will be realized by means of externally driven conservative and dissipative potentials. The potential geometry ranges from individual periodically modulated barriers and several modulated barriers, which are connected in series, up to dissipative barriers in which losses or decoherence are present. In the proposed experimental and theoretical investigations, the interplay between the interaction between the particles and the dissipative or time modulated barriers is one of the challenges.
