Novel WRC interacting receptors transducing signals at the membrane to the actin cytoskeleton

Final Report Abstract

Changes in cell morphology and cell motility require the dynamic remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton. To study the dynamics and function of the actin cytoskeleton in vivo, we have established different genetically traceable Drosophila model systems that allow live-cell imaging combined with new advanced high-resolution microscopy techniques. Our data uncovered novel mechanisms but also new conserved molecules by which chemical or physical signals are transduced to the actin cytoskeleton to control directed single immune cell migration, but also collective cell migration during wound closure and organogenesis.
