Final Report Abstract

Der Artstatus einer weit verbreiteten europäischen Nacktschnecke, Umax maximus, deren verschleppte Population in Übersee bedeutende Schädlinge darstellen, bzw. die Abgrenzung zu weitern Arten, war sehr fraglich, da diese Schnecken im äußeren Habitus und Farbe extrem variabel sind. Das Kleinprojekt konnte eindeutig klären, dass sämtliche untersuchten Populationen (aus 4 Kontinenten und vielen Inseln) tatsächlich zu einer einzigen Art gehören. Damit kann jetzt eine biologische Schädlingsbekämpfung auf einer gesicherten Taxonomie aufbauen.
