Project Description

The project's main objective is to bridge the difraction barrier in THz instrumentation research with a super-resolution THz imaging systems capable of visualizing fine (microscopic) structures in real-time. The super-resolution THz imaging system is made of an array of pixel including all functions such as illumination, propagation, detection, and evanescent eld sensing. The imaging principle is based on magnetically coupled split ring resonators (SRR) which exhibit an evanescent eld with exponential decay. Due to monolithic integration, the project opens up uncharted territory in numerous scientific disciplines.
