Modeling molecular and cellular mechanisms of clonal evolution in indolent B cell lymphoma (A12)

Subject Area Hematology, Oncology
Term from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278529602

Project Description

Follicular lymphoma (FL), a highly heterogeneous B-cell malignancy, is still incurable in most cases. The project posits that the tumor immune microenvironment imposes profound constraints upon FL evolution and that FL cells in turn corrupt their environment to their advantageous growth, including resistance against therapy. To shed light onto this co-evolution, it will analyse primary patient samples, as well as mouse models by using gene expression profiling, high parameter flow cytometry as well as immunofluorescence imaging, cross-species bioinformatics and CRISPR/Cas9-based validation.
