The subproject focusses on processes of cooperatively accomplished tools of cooperation by taking up the example of European midrange data processing and computing. It departs from the hypothesis that normative categories of thinking telecommunication standards shaped the digitization of European telecommunication networks. Due to complex path-dependencies it also impacted the end of European production of midrange computers in the 1980s.
