Project Details
Aerosol, clouds, and radiation characteristics from observations and Big Data analysis (A01)
Subject Area
Atmospheric Science
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 268020496
Our project is based on observed and modeled data sets of aerosols, clouds, and radiative properties of the atmosphere from the 1-year MOSAiC drift of the research vessel Polarstern trough the Arctic. In this final phase of (AC )3 we want to sort these data sets according to the prevalent atmospheric regimes, such as cold-air outbreaks from or warm-air intrusions into the Arctic. This will help to evaluate and improve the description of aerosol and cloud processes in climate model simulations of a future Arctic
