Project Details
Earth Rotation and Global Dynamic Processes
Applicant
Professor Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Müller
Subject Area
Geophysics and Geodesy
Term
from 2006 to 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5471782
The main objective of this coordinated project is to describe and explain the physical phenomena which contribute to variations of Earth rotation. Interactions and couplings of the various sub-systems are taken into account to a much higher extent than in previous studies. The contributions of various groups and scientific disciplines enable a comprehensive and integral treatment of Earth rotation as well as a dedicated study and analysis of the dynamic processes involved.
