Project Details
Identification and Simulation of Subsurface Soil Patterns from Geophysical Measurements and Remote Sensing Data (B09#)
Subject Area
Soil Sciences
Term
from 2016 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 15232683
Previous studies within the Collaborative Research Centre TR32 have revealed patterns in subsurface soil distributions with the use of detailed geophysical surveys. In this project, we combine these results with additional regionally available information to extend the knowledge to a wider lateral extent. We develop and apply novel methods to characterise and predict subsurface soil patterns on larger scales and test our predictions with additional field measurements, to contribute to bridge the gap between high-resolution local field investigations and process simulations on the scale of hydraulic catchments.
