With the support of Open Access Philipps-University Marburg aims to enhance the visibility and the impact of the research performed by its scientists. Therefore, with the financial support of the DFG, the university refurnishes the publication fund to finance Open Access publications. To document Open Access as an inherent part of the future strategy of the university, an Open Access policy was developed and published in March 2015. Establishment of the Open Access fund is accompanied by supporting structures in the University library to coordinate the funding process and to provide researchers with professional advice by the Open Access librarian.
