The project B1 uses a cross-host comparisons to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms that underlie the host’s ability to recognize and distinguish native versus non-native microbes in marine metazoans. The project will further evaluate the influence of microbial transmission routes on bacterial colonization in the next generation in the model systems sponge, Nematostella and teleost fish.
