The overarching objectives of the A1 project are to enhance our understanding of microbiome-mediated evolution as well as microbiome-mediated immune-protection and metabolism. Using the nematode C. elegans as a versatile experimental model system the project will examine the molecular and metabolic processes involved in microbiome-mediated host adaptation and protection against pathogen infection.
