Project Details
Optimized Polymer-Based Alignment Media for NMR Spectroscopy (C03)
Subject Area
Experimental and Theoretical Physics of Polymers
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259079535
The overall aim of the project is to characterise and improve the properties of NMR alignment media via a combination of sophisticated analytical methods and advanced polymer network synthesis. Network characterisation using double quantum measurement as well as experiments defining network-solute interaction like transfer-NOE, saturation transfer difference, and chemical exchange saturation transfer will be applied, while precision polymers with defined chain lengths, specific paramagnetic and/or chiral incorporations will be synthesised by developing novel end efficient cross-linking strategies as well as the development of scalable procedures for monodisperse PEG synthesis.
