The IRTG provides the structural framework for high-level continuous training of PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in the field of autophagy. It offers a comprehensive program comprising scientific educational modules, interdisciplinary technology training, annual retreats, individual mentoring and complementary skill training for all IRTG members. Based on this success, we plan to continue the IRTG with only slight adjustments, such as building an alumni network. In addition, the IRTG it will be open to all early-career scientists from our institutions, hence providing a platform for a vivid exchange of knowledge, interactive learning, new ideas, and collaborations.
