Project Details
Tailor-Made Sequence-Controlled Polymer-Dye-Conjugates for Controlling Exciton Dynamics (A04)
Subject Area
Preparatory and Physical Chemistry of Polymers
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259079535
This project will develop a sequence-defined synthesis route to create highly-tailorable rigid macromolecules. New synthetic strategies will allow the creation of sequence-defined rod-like macromolecules that will be used, as a first example, to understand and optimise the photophysical properties of functional polymers for energy conversion. This project is distinct from the others in that the functionality it creates is of a physical rather than chemical nature. However, this functionality is achieved by the chemical control developed to precisely locate functional molecules in space relative to the rigid polymer backbone.
