Precision Metallopolymers: From Chains to Precision Nanoparticles (A02)

Subject Area Preparatory and Physical Chemistry of Polymers
Term from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259079535

Project Description

The project investigates the synthesis of functional, well-defined polymer chains, designed for the controlled insertion of metal ions, resulting in single chain nanoparticles (SCNPs). In the initial funding period, a number of metal functionalised SCNPs were synthesised. In the second funding period, we aim at an even higher level of control regarding the number and position of functional groups within the chains, which directly impacts the formation and structure of the metal-SCNP nanoparticles and thus the catalytic activity and selectivity.
