Reversible Single-Chain Folding of Macromolecules via Non-Covalent Interactions
(A01)
Subject Area
Preparatory and Physical Chemistry of Polymers
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259079535
In contrast to the at least partially understood folding of polypeptides to proteins, the understanding of the mechanistic principles of the folding of polymers into single chain nanoparticles (SCNPs) is still in its infancy. Complex macromolecules with several novel covalent and non-covalent (photochemically controlled) folding points will be explored and their compaction studied in detail on an atomistic level using a variety of sophisticated NMR-spectroscopic methods.
