Project Details
Interplay between autophagy and inflammatory cell death in organ fibrogenesis (F11 (E02))
Subject Area
Pharmacology
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259130777
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a frequent fibrotic disease with unresolved pathogenesis. This project builds up on the previous observation that lack-of-function of the autophagy receptor ABIN-1 in mice leads to the development of pulmonary fibrosis. This project will shed light on the interplay between selective autophagy and inflammatory cell death to provide novel pathophysiological concepts and strategies of combined therapies with implications for inflammatory and fibrotic diseases in general.
