Dynamic interactions of particles with wetted structured component surfaces (A08)

Subject Area Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering
Term from 2015 to 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 172116086

Project Description

In this project, the influence of the morphology of wetted structured component surfaces on the dynamic interactions with solid particles is investigated. The simulations with the coupled Discrete Element Method (DEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) will be performed to gain new knowledge about the influence of topographical microstructure and wetting of component surfaces on the contact and sticking mechanisms of particles during collision. The models will be validated using collision experiments.
