The simulation of the Klein-Gordon-Zakharov system in high-plasma-frequency and subsonic limit regimes is numerically very delicate due to the highly oscillatory behavior of the solution. Our idea is the construction of efficient robust time integrators based on the analysis of the limit approximations. This asymptotic approach allows us to filter out the high oscillations in the exact solution explicitly and to reduce the numerical task to the integration of the corresponding non-oscillatory limit systems. The synergy between analysis and numerics aims to state sharp approximation bounds for this numerical ansatz (consisting of the asymptotic approximation of the solution and the time integration of the limit systems).
