1. Deriving general statements on planning processes from actual empirically observable location decisions on renewable energies.2. Fundamental coverage and description of economical, ecological and social impacts of previous location decisions on renewable energies.3. Subdivision of the region under study into areas, which differ clearly concerning sensibility towards technology and specific location factors with respect to renewable energies. Definition of minimum requirements, demanded by a subregion, in respect to economic, ecological and social quality of a specific renewable energy. Classification of technologies.4. Assignment of space and technology. Development and implementation of an alternative concept for a spatial compatibility of renewable energies within the specific regions under study. 5.Comparison of the theoretically optimal location pattern of renewable energies within the newly established concept with the actual expansion of renewable energies. Thus the spatial compatibility of the previous expansion of renewable energies can be quantified.6. Development of a GIS application in order to calculate scenarios of location patterns of renewable energies and to analyze competitive mechanisms between them. Renewed comparison with the actual extension of renewable energies.
