Low-energy theories for strongly correlated spin-orbit electron systems in one and two spatial dimensions (B04)

Subject Area Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term since 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 258499086

Project Description

In this project, we theoretically investigate bulk interaction effects in topological insulators, and the nature of possible Mott transitions within such strongly spin-orbit coupled electron systems. Special emphasis will be put on the role of doping in low-dimensional spin systems, and the study of intertwining spin and charge degrees of freedom.
