Project Details
Transport phenomena in topological insulators (A03)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 258499086
This project focuses on two aspects: Transport properties of topological insulator materials based on HgTe and the necessary technology for the device fabrication. Two main goals are the lithographic development of reliable ohmic contacts, which sustain high magnetic fields and a split-gate technology. The feasibility of potential device applications such as a spin-controlled transistor will be explored.
