The aim of the proposed transfer project is the industrial standardization, improvement of flexibility and enhancement of the already developed DTI-method (Design of Technological Interfaces) for integrated design and optimization of manufacturing process chains, developed within the SFB 489. The intention is to reduce time- and costs within enterprises of metal cutting for complex products. There is a requirement to simulate technical interferences between the production processes in an industrially usable model to carry out process optimizations by low effort. Therefore, it is required to describe the interactions of technical parameters of processes and economic objectives (e. g. time and cost) of the enterprise generally, regardless of the type of process as well as of the objectives. Within the Project, this is achieved by the development of a standardized, flexible framework and module system and standardized procedures for the DTI-Method.Based on the described motivation, the manufacturing system of Baker Hughes, to produce underground manufacturing tools, will be used as typical application scenario. The project is a transfer of knowledge from the C3-modul of the SFB 489, which delivers a prototype for the manufacturer of expensive capital goods. The DTI-method has been developed for a simulation-based planning for an optimal operation of process chains. It represents a multi-criteria analysis of work-piece characteristics between all manufacturing steps and process parameters and has been pre-evaluated by within an exemplary production system for gears, crank shafts and pinion shafts.
