GRK 865:  Mechanisms of Vasoregulation

Subject Area Medicine
Term from 2003 to 2007
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 273587

Project Description

Cardiovascular disease is a major cause for mortality in Germany. Various pathophysiological mechanisms, such as atherosclerosis endothelial dysfunction and vascular remodeling, have proved to be associated with this disease. Therefore, the characterisation of disturbed signal transduction pathways as well as the cellular and molecular interactions within the endothelial cells and vascular smooth muscle cells will help to elucidate the mechanisms that account for cardiovascular diseases.
