Project Details
GRK 804: Analysis of Cellular Functions by Combinatorial Chemistry and Biochemistry
Subject Area
Basic Research in Biology and Medicine
Physical Chemistry
Physical Chemistry
Term
from 2002 to 2011
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 273495
The interdisciplinary research projects comprise modern research on medicinal substances and aim at identifying protein domains that may serve as biologically relevant targets. This shall be done by studies on structure activity relationships. Newly developed screening methods shall help to search databases for potential active substances, which are to be tested in vitro and in vivo. Combinatorial chemistry and molecular modelling will be used to facilitate the development and profiling of the medicinal substances. This interdisciplinary study programme will help the participating Ph.D. students to gain broad expertise in the life sciences including combinatorial (bio)chemistry, molecular biomedicine and pharmaceutical sciences.
