Project Details
GRK 643: Software for Mobile Communicaton Systems
Subject Area
Computer Science
Term
from 2001 to 2009
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 273181
It is widely expected that the Internet will soon play a crucial role for both voice and data transmission. Moreover, there is an observable trend towards distributed applications, communicating via standardised middleware platforms. Likewise, improvements in mobile communication technologies will soon give mobile users access to all available service as well. Yet, to make all this happen massive research efforts into software for communication systems are necessary. The research training group will look into these diverse and complex aspects through both research projects and courses. Topics to be addressed include, but are not limited to formal specification and verification of communication protocols, software engineering aspects pertinent to the design of communication systems, specification, implementation, and evaluation of future network services, as well as the analysis of applications from different domains.
