Graphene is an ideal material for high frequency large scale flexible electronics, because of its high carrier mobility the excellent flexibility and the possibility to fabricate devices in a thin-film-transistor fabrication process. This potential has already been demonstrated by the realization of single transistors on flexible substrates with cut-off frequencies up to 34 GHz. In addition several integrated circuits for RF-applications, like oscillators, mixers or receiver, have been demonstrated using graphene transistors on rigid substrate. In this project we will design, fabricate and characterized a full-fledged transmitter circuit on flexible foil for Wifi band at 2.4GHz using a MMIC process with graphene based transistors and diodes. This requires work on single device level in order optimize the performance of graphene transistors, device modeling and circuit design, and final the circuit fabrication. Moreover, new concepts for circuit design especially for the active parts of the circuit will be developed in order maximize the overall system performance taking into accounted the key performance parameters of graphene based transistors. Finally the realization of a working flexible 2.45 GHz ISM band transmitter will demonstrate the potential of the graphene based devices and developed MMIC process.
