Molecular bioinformatics comprises all questions of generating, analyzing and interpreting biological data, as well as utilization of such knowledge in biotechnology and medicine. As biological data are generated on an industrial scale today,the use of computer-based methods is essential to any scientific or technical utilizationof these data.The research topics of this research training grouop in Bioinformatics range from comparative sequence analysis, analysis of gene expression, regulation and molecular interaction to the computer-based supervision of biotechnical processes.
