Subject Area
Economics
Term
from 2000 to 2009
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 273005
The aim of the program is to combine outstanding theoretical and empirical work in the field of financial and monetary economics by contrasting theoretical analysis with its practical application to current problems in the financial and banking sectors. Doctoral candidates will not only be exposed to a rigorous curriculum introducing them to the formal techniques of economic and financial research, they will also benefit from an intensive exchange with experts from Frankfurt-based financial institutions. This combination of theoretical analysis and practical application is unique for Germany and represents a special feature of this program. The program is also trying to overcome the separation of monetary and financial analysis into two distinct areas of research.
