Subject Area
History
Term
from 1998 to 2007
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 272687
The research training group is dedicated to multi-disciplinary research on the production, diffusion, and storage of those forms of information and knowledge which shaped the formation and development of early modern culture. Its program supports the work of young researchers and specialists in these fields. Of particular interest is the expansion of writing in its scriptographical and typographical forms during the early modern period and the collection of these forms in medial fields and archives. These aspects of cultural history can be studied in exemplary form through the cultural avant-gardism and extensive collections of the archives and libraries of Augsburg. The Institute for European Cultural History and its research training group serve to support such scholarship.
